The problem
On a fast-moving DEX market, the trader who sees a new pool first wins. FREN wanted a terminal that let its community trade from several wallets at once and get into new pools before everyone else.
What we built
Pool detection from the mempool
We read pending transactions straight from the mempool, so new liquidity pools showed up in the terminal before they were confirmed.
Transactions ready before the pool lands
Traders queued buys ahead of a launch. The engine kept those transactions built and cached, then sent them to seven endpoints at once the moment the pool appeared.
A hot path in Rust and Go
We rewrote the execution path from TypeScript to Rust and Go. Reaction time dropped to under 30 ms, about 100 times faster than where we started.
On the web, in Discord and in the browser
Traders ran several wallets from one terminal: a web app, a Discord bot, and a Chrome extension published on the Chrome Web Store.
Outcome
Buys often landed in the same block as the pool they targeted, frequently as the very next transaction. FrenBot was free for traders and earned through fee-sharing with DEX aggregator partners: more than $10M in volume and over $100K in fees through one aggregator alone. We built it and maintained it for two years.
